Aspirin didn't do too shabbily either. If you're bored, read up on trademark genericde.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little

It takes a week for repeats to work it's way through the system here.
Not great but not overly onerous when you know your own med needs, I always put mine in 2 weeks before needing them, but bugger me the amount who complain on the local facebook page about running out boggles the mind ...

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little

You know when people complain about not being able to get their prescription, repeat or new, in microseconds? That's because there's systems in place, or should be, to minimise mistakes happening.

Re: Friday thread, mid July

Currently sitting in The Wolseley's bar having broken my fast there. Then a slow meander to London City airport and a flight back to home, well via Berlin, some German trains and a car journey.

The rest of the weekend, I don't know.

Went to Spawn the Youngers graduation ceremony. They are now a proper Doctor, but not a real doctor.

And socialised with my estranged wife for the second time since we split. All very civilised and amicable, if a touch emotional.

English by birth, and by God's grace not from Yorkshire.

Buy a pair of J bars for the roof rack, canoes are quite easily deformed by too much tension on the straps.

Re: What have you done today thread?

Started the process of exchanging my UK driving licence for a German one. Very simple but I'll lose the small lorry and coach entitlements, I'd need to have medicals, both here and in the UK. I don't see a circumstance that I might need to drive a small lorry as an amateur.

Re: Music player for the car

It sounds similar to mine. What I've done is load all my music onto a USB stick and then prefixed a random number to each file. That's done by a small program running in Linux.

Re: Patched road surfaces as camouflage

Could be. I'm usually not in a rush and the traffic is very light so not much need to overtake. The occasional pushbike, tractor or Simson moped(Faahsands of 'em).

Re: Ozempic and suchlike...know anybody on 'em?

Now comes the fun of trying to keep the weight off. As I mentioned before, in the course of a year I've lost over 25kgs, that's about a 1lb per week. A changed diet and lots of physical work, stress helps quite early on too. I haven't been this light since the late 1980s,
