Re: Second opinions ??

Recently we were told something like: "that bit of you is dead, you need major surgery to remove it and the surgery will probably be life changing".

A second opinion away from the NHS ordered a different test that resulted in: "That bit isn't dead, it's the prescribed meds making you ill, all you ...

Re: Claude (genai) is smarter than me.

I use GenAI for work. It does a reasonable job but it's like having a bunch of work experience kids that churn loads of work out but need a lot of checking.

In the decking example it hasn't created that good advice, it's pinched it from someone else without credit. I fear people will be less likely ...

Also, never give your child a name they will struggle to spell.

And that's aside from the issue of phonetic Irish names ...

Also avoid hyphens, apostrophes, umlauts etc etc, even in the 21st century 99% of computer systems can't cope with them

Very much so, as I found out when ...

It's getting very political in here all of a sudden.
A flyer for a viable political candidate and pointless virtue signalling by the Labour party.

My G.P.

"Here, have a prescription for 28 statin tablets. Take one a day. It's on a repeat prescription, but you can only re-order them every 30 days."

Hmmm. Which two or three days of the month should I skip them, then? Apart from February, as long as it ain't a leap year.

Keep booking ...

Re: Judge wants to ban biking for longer than driving...

The judge may not like his sentencing options but asking the CPS barristers to be inventive is dubious. If he wants the maximum punishment changed he should ask his MP and not try to make it up himself.
If they want to treat car and bike licenses independently then it should be across the board ...

Re: Plug-in battery storage units.

I've looked at this and it's not cheap, it would take a long time to break even IF energy providers keep giving the discounts.
They would make more sense with a solar array but at the same time it makes a solar array less attractive.

Every option I look at fails to pass scrutiny, the only way I ...

Re: WiFi / Fibre speeds ??

They are very good speeds but 'up to' is worrying. If it's fibre to your house (probably with those speeds) then it's most likely reliable.
Fibre to the cabinet that was normal in the UK for many years was always sold as up to 60Mb but was often much lower, I don't know how honest they need to be in ...

Not since I stopped dealing with HMRC and their obsession with overcharging electronically and refunding through cheques that are too big for the banking app.

I really don't want to bash the shit out of anyone. What I want is a police force that is resourced enough to respond to such crimes. Simple fact is, if I hadn't put a stop to their attempt, they would have continued and had my bike away. Now I know they come armed, if they come back, I have to go ...

I went there to watch club racing a couple of years ago, I got lucky with the weather and had a very nice afternoon up by the hairpin. I can imagine it's not a nice place in the wet.

The NHS. Specifically, my wife working for them. I cannot believe some of the crap that goes on at our local hospital. If anything breaks, no one knows how to get it repaired or replaced or is bothered.

People get supervisor positions, then leave and reapply for their old role as it's too ...
