Id put just a smear on both sides of the rubber washer, put it back together do the screw up enough to seat it properly then tighten it up fully once the silicon has set. Dont put any on the metal bit that goes on top. (NB Not a plumber)

Just checked on K382 WAD and delighted to see its still on the road and MOTed until dec 20th. I got it new and its now on 38k miles. Unlike the current one..

A strip of land down the side of a potential building plot can be quite a valuable thing, if it there is no way onto the land by going round it. See Ransom strip or bastard strip. I've got one, and if the probate is ever sorted on the rest of the field, I could be laughing

Is the slot for the key in line with the bar through the door? As far as I remember that bit turns freely until its connected to the the lock, so maybe thats just where its settled in the packaging
