Back Protectors?

Do trackdays check them ? Do they need to be a B.S. standard etc?

Anyone recommend a comfortable one?
I'm a bit of a salad dodger and leathers are a bit snug

Mines a Forcefield one.

The shoulder straps have been sewn back together after it (and my leathers) were cut off me at Cadwell. I can still walk and stuff, so assume it did a reasonable job.

Had about 50 crashes and never hurt my back. TBH I never saw anyone hurt their back in 30 years of track riding

It's not racing, but when I was trying (and failing) to learn to snowboard I predictably went arse over tit at about 3mph and really bashed my coccyx. I was in quite some pain for weeks. A decent back pro would have avoided that.

I swear by D3O ones for mountain biking - I can validated the crash well!

It's not racing, but when I was trying (and failing) to learn to snowboard I predictably went arse over tit at about 3mph and really bashed my coccyx. I was in quite some pain for weeks. A decent back pro would have avoided that.

I don’t think either of the ones I wore learning to snowboard were the right shape to protect my coccyx! They were bike ones but when I landed and bruised mine (not as bad as yours sounds) I’d have preferred those padded shorts type things - but I was too far for sports gear back then!!

Sorry, nothing to do with TDs and BPs!!

As already recommended, D3O are good - I've got a Furygan one. Also recently got a Knox & I'd say it's as good.

I think so, usually just take the bung / bar weight out of handlebar and put this in as it’s on a taper so spreads as you tighten it,
Attach it ALl together first then insert in place in the handle bar, and tighten by hand as it grips the inner handle bar you can then use a spanner / Allen key
Do not do why I did and put the insert in whilst holding the lever and trying to screw it in a 2 min job took me an hr before I sussed it
Ps mine was on a gsxr and was multifit off ebay but was a few years ago but still on there

The brake lever guards vary from a few quid on Ebay to a lot more ....... the few quid ones on my bike look fine to anyone who checks and will allow the bike on track but will smash to smithereens on any contact i would guess. The R and G ones and others of that price bracket will actually do the job a lot better.

Don’t think you need the lever guard when hand guards are already fitted
