How do you think 2024 will shape up for you?
Me? I reckon it's going to be one of my better years. Life is on an upward trend for me.

The only shaping up I need to do is losing my post-Christmas and post-holiday beer baby.
Jeez, I've been piling it on.

Happy New Year everyone
I've said that I'm taking 2024 for ME! 2023 has been grim with too much grown up stuff so I'm going to try to get away for some hols as often as possible in 2024 and enjoy the bike. I do have a job and family though, so who knows

More likely a Sikorsky S-92, Whirlwinds were phased out in the 1960s

Re: How do you think 2024 will shape up for you?
I'd be surprised if we didn't lose one or two of our elderly dependants this year. M-i-L is 93 with dementia and its kicking in now. My Step dad is 86 and strong in mind, but increasingly weak in body and really starting to struggle with his mobility and his COPD. Both very nice people and they'll be sorely missed, but I think if I'm brutally honest i'd rather they went as they are now, with dignity, than deteriorating further and having to bring carers in etc.
Apart from that, I'm glad to have survived another year and look forward, in the main, to see what this one brings!

Moved into a house after 35 years of flats and maisonettes - lots of odds and sods to do (lots) but looking forward to it.
Just been out for a ride on the nc - nice not to have to dodge through 20 limits for ages and lots less suicidal food delivery pushbikes and sleepy Uber drivers.
Happy new year everyone

I've just heard one of the classic bunch I've done a few runs with last Summer died last night from cancer. He and his missus were lovely, gentle folk and very easy to talk to,part of the furniture in Carnlough harbour on a Sunday. He was so proud of resurrecting his 250 triple.

I have decided that this year I shall get older. When you think about the alternative, it is a no-brainer.

Re: How do you think 2024 will shape up for you?
Well, I hope it fucking gets better.
My lad's girlfriend bought him a brand new ADV 350 for crimbo. He wanted to take it home today so I said I'd follow him. Weather was shit, I'm used to it, he's not. He only bloody came off on a greasy wet bend!!! luckily slow'ish speed, pride damaged and lots of plastic on the scooter as well. Going to cost a few quid no doubt.
He's absolutely gutted. I saw it happening, I actually said in my helmet 'too fast' as he was approaching it. Nothing I could do unfortunately.
So, it better start shaping up!!!!!

Got off to a good start with a 4.1 quake... which apparently everyone (except me) in the county felt.

Glad to see the back of 2023. One thing I discovered is that your whole life can turn upside down in 24 hours
One step in front of the other for us this year in bronteland, but many times I’m gloomy bugger.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it's going to have a bloody good go at kicking me in the nuts at some point so I'll be preparing accordingly.
