I think the only apps I ever spent money on are Torque and Co-Pilot.
There is a free to play game I once spent £8 on getting a loot box.... but that was like £8 for 300 hours of play, so worth it imho.

Movie rentals, YT music subscription. If you have a shimano e-bike there's an app that allows you to change your country to US so your limiter is set to 19.8mph instead of 15.5...

For quiet contemplation, all the Monument Valley puzzles. You'll still have a few ££ left though.
