It's back.... CBR600RR

Post by KungFooBob »

A new CBR600RR...

They stopped importing them to Europe a few years ago, although they kept making the old one for the US market.

But this looks to be a whole new bike... or at least new wheels and top fairing.

It's a teaser.

The bike isn't due until 2021, it's probably not finished yet.

I think the arse has fallen out of the superbike market and maybe they're trying to tempt people back to race reps by offering something a little bit more realistic than 250bhp missiles that seem to have little purpose these days?

The sub-400cc market seems to be reviving a bit and maybe more affordable 600's will sell better than £20k+ superbikes?

WEll it looks exactly how i'd expect and you can bet your arse it will ride exactly how you'd expect.

It's clearly a no from me... but from Mrs Weeksy, you never know, it's probably a yes...

First thing it needs is all the right electronics, which basically means NOT the ones from the Fireblade :)

It's still going to need a gazillion revs to move. A nice light bike that has a litre engine that produces say 130-140 bhp with loads of grunt in the midrange would be far more practical. But the road testers would savage it for being "underpowered" and it wouldn't sell.

I haven't seen a supersport 600 on the road in ages.
