MV Agusta

A few weeks ago I bought an MV Agusta turismo veloce. Basically MV's go at a multistrada with their lovely 800cc triple motor. I've waited to post a bit and now it's done 1600 miles and a trackday I know it well enough to comment properly. It may look adv bike or touring bike or non sportsbike but the reality is it's a tall sportsbike. The suspension is fairly stiff for any type of bike and a back to back on my brothers GSXS1000 showed his bike to be a lot softer. But it's very well damped and handles superbly, so much soI can't find a negative comment. I've increased rear preload a little but that's it. The front end feel is great too which was surprising. Brakes, Brembo's so awesome. The engine is the stand out though, it's superb. Quite short geared but it has loads of midrange and a nice top end, at the TLGP against the GSXS1000 upto 100mph was down to who got the best launch, top speed seems around 150 indicated. The QS is superb going up but coming down with the blipper is clunky on the road. It's very comfy and the adjustable screen works well. The dash is ermmm hmmm, a nice TFT but I think they couldn't decide what info to put on so they put everything on  The TC works well on the road and allows a wheelie or two, tank range is great too.
So it had to go to Donington for an evening play, I left the scorpion trails on as they are an ok tyre. It was a proper laugh on track, indicating 142 down the back straight and holding onto 600's no problem. Great on the brakes and the blipper made sense here. The tyres though, after 6 or 7 laps with TC on minimum there were some small slides which didn't faze the TC but eventually one or two a bit bigger which made the TC wake up. Nothing major but then two more tipping into the melbourne loop then goddards. I slowed up and finished the session though. The rear tyre was very warm and greasy which is fair enough. The pace was very good though and prob not really in the design brief for the tyre. The bike handled the moving around great though and it wasn't a concern for me. With sticky tyres it could win the inters trophy........

The Superveloce is on a short list of 2 bikes I could see myself buying with only a small push. The other is a Tuono V4. But the MV would make much more sense...

Stick some S22's on and its at least an Inters podium

Nice review and glad you cant find fault with it....... should last a couple of months now before you sell it
