Would it be too much.....

.........If my brake lines colour matched the bike.
Going to replace the 6yo lines with some braided hose, and as I have a 60th anniversary Yamaha, was thinking about yellow lines with black fittings.
A tad gauche, or befitting of a tart's handbag?

Personally I'd take some convincing that either black or clear isn't the way to go.
It's a bit like tyre lettering paint.....
Mind you,I'm quite partial to a bit of rimming tape,so my tastes may be slightly suspect.

Looking at the pic, I'd personally say no, but if you can get the right shade of yellow it might not look too bad.

I'd say yes. The bike is predominantly black apart from the tank, so a yellow accent with braided lines should work. But get two lines from the master cylinder, not that daft hoop over the mudguard arrangement that manufacturers love.

Unfortunately it has abs, so there is only a single feed to the front brakes, hence the 'hoop'.
I suppose I could run to a splitter, then single lines to each caliper, but that would mean custom lines, which adds to the price, and another union, and somewhere to mount the splitter..........
