Re: What to do?
Pah, I just looked at the Honda ae website. They don't do the CB1000R out there, only the CB1100.
I did notice that they sell a Honda Unicorn, which might go well with the hat.

Re: What to do?
Out cycling in the sticks back in the Summer - I was passed by a gaggle of geezers out on a bunch of nearly-new ATs - muddied and dusted, grins all over their faces, they were having a great time.
I was really jealous. I've never really fancied off-road but there are some great routes around here

Re: What to do?
A mate of mine, who's fairly new to biking, bought a brand new AT on PCP a few years ago (he's still got it) and then went on the offical Honda off road school, having never left tarmac on two wheels before. He has a great old time off roading now - nothing particularly serious AFAIK, but he enjoys it.DefTrap wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 2:42 pm Out cycling in the sticks back in the Summer - I was passed by a gaggle of geezers out on a bunch of nearly-new ATs - muddied and dusted, grins all over their faces, they were having a great time.

He also managed to smash himself in the face with the top of the bike's windscreen during the training

Re: What to do?
The fact that you're asking what to do says that you don't really want an Africa Twin, when you see the bike you want you'll just buy it, if you have to talk yourself into buying it, you don't want it.

Re: What to do?
I'd be tempted to lease one for a month with the intention of giving it back, but I'd want to go somewhere on it, maybe wait for summer and ride up to the Artic Circle again, it'd be great on the gravel roads in Sweden.Potter wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 3:06 pmI'm not buying it, they're on lease for not a lot of money.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 2:56 pm The fact that you're asking what to do says that you don't really want an Africa Twin, when you see the bike you want you'll just buy it, if you have to talk yourself into buying it, you don't want it.
I don't think there is any bike I fancy buying atm, but there are a few that I would lease and then hand back.

Re: What to do?
The only thing that matters is whether you want to. From a financial perspective taking in to consideration that you haven't been riding the bike you're got it sounds completely nuts. Do you have more money than sense? If so go for it

Re: What to do?
Buy a garage, then they don't need to be covered in dust.Potter wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 2:29 pm Met up with a mate the other day who told me that Honda are now leasing h'Africa Twins for £200 a month.
Yesterday I was sitting looking at the Royal Enfield, covered in dust, I haven't ridden it in months, so I cleaned it, took some pictures and advertised it, not expecting it to sell.
It sold in less than an hour, I was laughing as it went, I couldn't believe it. My boy was a bit sad because it was the bike he learned on.
So what to do, I'm not sure I even want a bike at the moment and my lads KTM390 is sat outside covered in even more dust if I fancy riding something.
But £200 a month for a brand new AT on the driveway?

Re: What to do?
If you'll ride it, do it. If you'll look at it thinking it's £200/month sitting there doing nothing, don't.

If it's going to sit gathering dust use the money elsewhere, drugs, booze n hookers etc.

Re: What to do?
Thing is, for him as with a fair few on here, £200 a month doesn't exist, change anything or affect anything. So it's really just a case of want. Or not want.MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 4:33 pm If it's going to sit gathering dust use the money elsewhere, drugs, booze n hookers etc.

I expect they're all pressing the donate button every month then.weeksy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 4:36 pmThing is, for him as with a fair few on here, £200 a month doesn't exist, change anything or affect anything. Re: What to do?
Introduce a 'new bike tariff'. You can't have a new bike without paying £20. Consultation on which new bike to get £30.weeksy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 4:46 pmI think I love youCount Steer wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 4:40 pmI expect they're all pressing the donate button every month then.
