Working I'm afraid. Have a good time.

No... but it could be as well as...... well... the problem is... you have the Ebike which changes the trail ride context. You'd die of hypothermia in this weather waiting for us lot.

Re: BPW Xmas/New Year ?
It does indeed mate... As you know, i've tried the Ebike/manual thing at Pines with you and they're just so so far apart. It's 99% certain that i'd be taking the boy and it's not happening to have him flat out all day trying to keep up with youCouchy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 1:04 pmIt’s a fair point lol and BPW does level the bikes up well I’ll see what dates I’ve got

Re: BPW Xmas/New Year ?
Our unofficial guidelines regarding Xmas and New Year leave require 6 months+ notice for time off ever xmas unless you have good reason (as someone has to cover your gap in the roster). So unfortunately I can't.

I'm on call with the RNLI that week - if I wasn't I would be up for it. As long as it was warm

27th is the only option for me - 28th sold out and back in the office on 29/30.weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 12:42 pm @Beancounter mentioned it in the other post so thought i'd lob it up.

No worries fella, I was already planning on going over the holidays and cleared it with the missus at the weekend.

Re: BPW Xmas/New Year ?
Thanks for thinking of me @weeksy and forgive me, as this will sound curmudgeonly, but I'm done with bike parks (at least for the foreseeable). I've got riding on my doorstep that knocks BPW and the like into a cocked hat and it doesn't cost me a penny and the views are lot better than looking at mouldy Welsh trees or Merthyr Tydfil, in all its glittering delight....
Horses for courses and all that, hope those of you that go have a cracking time!

Re: BPW Xmas/New Year ?
Absolutely nowt wrong with that fella... we're all different people and at times we do different things within the same rough scopes.
Me, personally i'd pick Afan over BPW... but BPW itself does give a 'something' that i can't get in other places, in teh same way hitting Silverstone gives me something i can't get at other times on a motorbike.
The fact that the small boy is a BPW fiend and wants to go there will of course influence my decision somewhat, especially in winter as you get the respite when sitting on the bus etc..

Re: BPW Xmas/New Year ?
I say I'm done with bike parks, but there is one I wouldn't mind doing...
...when I bumped into Steve Jones and Hans Rey (CLANG!) during the summer Hans mentioned he was heading over to Dyfi bike park to ride an e bike loop they've got there. Not sure if it's official and open to the public or on the QT and invite only but it sounds epic, 40 km or so round and over 3,000 meters of climbing.
Steve Jones said Danny McAskill -who's massively into his emtb's now - rode it earlier in the year and said it was the best riding he'd ever done. You need to carry at least one spare battery, or stash it on the route somewhere in advance.
Hans did put some photo's and short video clips of him riding at Dyfi a few weeks after I'd met him and described it as "double black".
