Chain reaction cycles. Self adhesive patches. £3Dodgy knees wrote: Thu May 07, 2020 7:42 pm My lad had a puncture yesterday, only 3 mile from home so rung mrs recovery. Since, ordered 4 x tubes from halfords, £10. but fancy trying this slimey stuff.
Our puncture kit has those horrible thick patches with red edges, fvckin useless, don't form to tube. When I was a kid, they had them kits with simple, pliable patches which stuck properly, different sizes. Think they just want us to buy new tubes, bastards.
Anyway, all set for a ride tomorrow before the street embarrassment party starts.![]()
The 4 tubes from halfords are those shit ones with little screw end thing, wtf. What wrong with the car sort. I've got a cordless pump and works great, but no good on them shit ones. Why, why, why.Yorick wrote: Thu May 07, 2020 7:40 pm My bike has those silly skinny valves. How do I get slime or puncture repair stuff in there ?

Bikes came with good valves.
Can I drill the rims to make the hole bigger to get an inner tube with a proper valve ?Dodgy knees wrote: Thu May 07, 2020 7:48 pm Don't think you can get slime in them. Carnt remove valve.
I'm confused. You can't put slime in. And you can't use one of them squirty air canisters for a puncture. There must be an advantage, but can't see it.weeksy wrote: Thu May 07, 2020 7:49 pmThe shit ones as you call them have been here for 20+ years, no one uses car type, ever ever ever everDodgy knees wrote: Thu May 07, 2020 7:47 pmThe 4 tubes from halfords are those shit ones with little screw end thing, wtf. I have no idea, but yes you could put slime in. But we stopped doing that a decade ago and now no one uses tubes, at all, ever.
