Freedom
Indications are, Boris may relax some of the restrictions on Sunday. Meaning trips out are OK. Get the bikes ready.

When my son worked at RAF Topcliffe , the air ambulance based there had a name for the first sunny
weekend of the year. It was along the lines of 'blood Sunday' as they went out picking up crashed
bikers.
As much as I want to get out I think I might hang on a little longer and let the mad rush settle down.

UK: 30,000 deaths
UK press: FREEDOM!
I'm climbing the walls as much as anybody but I'll temper my desire to jump on a bike again for a little while. For one thing I suspect the "easing" of the lockdown won't cover "get on your bike and ride to mass gatherings" else every fucker with a campervan is going to hit the A303 at once. Also, I've no desire to be Cock Of The Week ending up in A&E because some SMIDSY twat has forgotten how to drive.

Ain't looking good...might just be garden centres open and exercise anytime. No change then. Let's see 7pm Sunday.

Do what I've done. Write your car off and keep a roll bag and a tail pack permanently bungied to the bike.
Where are you going?
Tescos officer. I've got no car, this is my only transport.
Where do you live?
200 miles away but the cunts are out of cavolo nero.
Fair enough. Mind how you go.
If my chain hadn't snapped I'd have done about 2000 miles since lockdown.

Re: Freedom
Dont count on much changing as the death toll and infection rate are still above where they said we need to be for major changes. To relax the major things would be a large back step. Bear in mind our "lockdown" is far more relaxed than those of other countries such as Spain. A mate from racing went out their 7 weeks ago for a weeks golf. She got caught up in Spains proper lockdown and only left the apartment last week for the first time for 1 hour exercise after 7 weeks indoors apart from food shopping
I am lucky that probably once a week i get a call to teach key workers on a CBT which the DVSA have sanctioned so i get a ride to work on the little 600 and a couple of hours riding behind a novice making sure they dont do something stupid on a bike which is easier with less traffic.
I also do my shopping trip once a week on the bike as i can pretty much fit it all in the Multistrada top box so my car is rarely used

Re: Freedom
Not what i heard
I took it as travel to work if you cant work from home and from Wednesday you can now travel to a place of exercise rather than exercising from your home address.
That leaves a fecking big loophole of interpretation as even those posting here have taken differing views on it. Essentially nothing has changed to the rules from last week but i will bet the roads will get a damn sight busier and the local traffic near the beaches where i live will suddenly increase

Re: Freedom
Causing a lot of confusion this...
Taking his speech on his word, basically, from Wednesday we can take non essential trips to parks or beach for picnic, read a book or chat to one non household friend, abiding by the 2 metre rule at all times. Not sure though, if this is just England, so a trip to Wales, not sure.
Park up and have a walk as the eat your sandwiches. Maybe.

It depends if you read them as they were said, together, or read them as completely separate entities... their meaning changes dramatically. And from this Wednesday, we want to encourage people to take more and even unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise.
You can sit in the sun in your local park, you can drive to other destinations, you can even play sports but only with members of your own household.
I took it as you could drive to destinations as part of your exercise... some are taking it as you can drive anywhere...
So my interpretation is, sure, ride your motorbike to somewhere you intend to exercise...
That said, i won't be... as i do all my exercising from my doorstep and won't be changing that. I won't be changing anything at all actually in my day to day routines, nothing in the slightest.

Re: Freedom
It’s all a matter of interpretation and until they change the regulations ( not advice) then they still stand.
This is from the Scottish version but I’m assuming the English is the same. There are a limited number of reasons for leaving the house and ‘exercise’ is one of them. No mention of how often/how far/whether you can take the car to exercise elsewhere.
As far as I know those regulations have not altered.
It’s how the police decide to interpret the rules and often they make rules up as they go along.
