Motorbike mags, do you ? don't you ?
With most stuff being social media based i'm guessing the answer is mostly going to be no....
But, well, you never know here.
I get a couple if we go away and are at an airport/chunnel etc just to flick through. I used to be a Fast Bikes regular back in the day with Shakey, Frost, Mason etc.. Still got many of the DVDs for mild entertainment and giggles, they were daft fuckers for sure.

Same really, haven’t really done so for years.
Ever since the prices started to go up quite a lot and the thickness and content reduced quite a lot.

I subscribe to Adventure Bike Rider.
Have done since it started, no idea how to cancel, but it's only £18 a year.
Its more about the trips than the bikes.

Rarely buy any, but my mate drops MCN off most weeks when he's finished with it. Takes about 40 mins to read.

I love a good adventure thread/article. That's a cracking thing about MTB magazines, they're not about "who's the quickest round a 2km loop" or "who has the shiny electronics" they're generally about epic side of a mountain type adventures.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 6:42 am I subscribe to Adventure Bike Rider.

Re: Motorbike mags, do you ? don't you ?
In the distant past I used to avidly read motorcycle mags, Streetfighters and Practical Classics being two of my faves.
But then the internet arrived and I was able to find oodles of bike related stuff to read and more pictures than I could ever wish for, plus videos too!
Personally I think all printed media's days are numbered and it's no bad thing. All that paper, all that ink, all those lorries carting it around the place, there's just no need for it in the 21st century...... IMO !

I do, indirectly. I subscribe to Apple News and that provides loads of magazines, which includes Bike, Ride, MCN etc, so I do read them.

Re: Motorbike mags, do you ? don't you ?
I've said yes but it's digital magazines. During lockdown I subbed on google play to bikes unlimited. £8 a month for MCN, Bike, Ride, Practical Sportsbike, Classic Bike and Built. You also get all back issues for over a year.
Before that I found I might buy a mag once in a while but often a mag would only have 1 article I was interested in so wouldn't bother. Now with the app I don't mind if I only read 1 or 2 articles in a mag as there's another X number to look at. I also find myself reading some of Classic Bike which I'd never normally do.

Used to buy Fast Bikes, Superbikes and MCN. Gradually got bored and stopped the magazines and in the end MCN became too expensive for the amount of interest I was getting out of it so stopped that too.

I used to subscribe to Superbikes in the 80s and used to take MCN with me in holiday but that was probably in the 90s? Internet killed them off for me.

Subscribe to https://www.american-v.cso2w.com/hub/
It's usually posted out bi-monthly but has gone online only for the past couple of issues due to covid, I look forward to it being back out in proper paper & ink as I'm not a fan of online magazines.

My daughter buys me a subscription to Practical Sportsbike as a birthday present every year.
I read it cover to cover and enjoy it but I don’t know if I’d buy it myself

I can get a couple free electronically through my library. I don't read every edition but if I'm at a wits end I'll skim through. Sometimes my neighbour drops off a pile too. I find the likes of MCN and Ride the same week after week. Here's a bike we're testing, we rode it a lot, we liked it a lot, it's based on this older bike so we know it will be reliable. Here's some kit and it's good.

Re: Motorbike mags, do you ? don't you ?
Was buying 4 or 5 magazines a month up until everyone of them had 600cc Shootouts for what seemed like months on end.
I really rated Bike and Superbike in the 80's and 90's but found the actual journalistic writing went down hill, as it did in other magazines, newspapers and TV.
Are there any real journalists anymore?

Yeah a few for sure, Johnny MC from Performance Bikes who now writes for fast bikes, I'd say Neeves tooWhysub wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 9:32 am Was buying 4 or 5 magazines a month up until everyone of them had 600cc Shootouts for what seemed like months on end.

I used to buy MCN religiously until about 2000.
None since. The missus buys me an MCN at airport when she flies. Bought me on Monday. Not opened it yet.

I don't think many people know about this, but there are literally hundreds of magazines available foc on the library's websitechutzpah wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 9:18 am I can get a couple free electronically through my library.
