Little red bus

Post by Buckaroo »

After a lot of debate with the boss, I / we decided that since my recent retirement we should find something we can do together that gets us out and about with minimal fuss.

My wife is one month on from a hip replacement, so we had to think outside the box.

Enter our red Vespa gets 300 hpe.

2020 plate, perfect condition and easy for her to get on and off.

Given my normal ride is a Harley Davidson 1200, it's like riding a bicycle being so light. Goes pretty well too. My last scooter was 125, so a 300 is quite a bit different in terms of riding.

Who knows, a year down the road and I may be able to entice her onto the Harley.

Sarfend here we come, followed by Brighton for a bit of Mods and Rocker action :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Do they still have the gear change on the left hand handlebar?

No, they are twist and go. CVD type apparently.

Otherwise very much like the original Vespa.

I have to confess it is growing on me.

Are you going to buy a parka and fit the scoot with a million mirrors?

Nice!

IIRC that's the scoot my mum currently has, and she loves it. :D

That must feel very different to the Harley. I’d take it easy until you get used to the power

Got that covered. Had it restricted. :P

Don't want to worry the wife with unplanned wheelies

It's surprisingly good fun to ride. I'm no longer bothered about what I ride these days, as long as I enjoy it (next Harley joke please)

Love scoots. Perfect for buzzing round town and great commuters too. Invest in good locks.

My Sh300 was a great commuting tool and managed to be quite some fun (for a Honda) I wouldn't look past a scoot for biking duties.

And + 1 on the pics.
