Fuel shortage?

Post by ZRX61 »

Had to go to three gas stations this evening before I found one that actually had any... & of course it was the most expensive bloody one in town, 50c/gal more than Costco so that fill-up cost $10 more than usual.

Doesn't really matter how cheap it is if there isn't any... Prices are up about 25% over the past 4 weeks. :wtf:

Coupled with a severe shortage of drivers with the fuel tanker endorsement... They ain't gonna be moving anything by road.

That's pipeline shutdown is east coast fuel supply. I don't see how that would affect availability on your side of the continent.

Looks like a shortage of drivers for local delivery is the root of the problem rather than some evil plot by pols.

I filled up the other day with Super as usual for the 690 as it's got such a small tank. It's usually costs about £12 quid-£14 max. It came to nearly 19 quid  It was only then I saw it was over £1.50 a litre as this particular garage. Only used it as the light was on and I was a ways from home.

My Beemer (car) takes super, did £40 the other day and only got half a tank
Although I have found a Sainsbury's near work that's 16p a litre cheaper since (thank fuck) bonkers price difference.

What's hilarious is that Florida isn't dependent upon that pipeline for very much fuel. About 90% comes in by boat. The proles are panic buying & hoarding it and that is creating shortages. Florida Governor DeSantis declared a state of emergency. Price gouging during a state of emergency is illegal and there's a means for reporting stations that are doing so.

Meanwhile in North Carolina:

Costco went down by 5c/gal here, at the same time Chevron went up by 5c/gal. Drove past the Chevron to fill up at Costco this morning.

Sainsburys for me for fuel as it is near the ASDA, so the prices are inline with them (until those Billionaire brothers buy it all and then prices will go north)... 99RON for the K1200R and whatever for the car...
