Passing time today I dragged the zx6 onto the drive and fired it up, letting it run for 10-15 minutes.

Then stuck it back in the garage.

Not the most constructive thing ever, but it honestly doesn't need anything

That's partly why I bought a new GSXR every 2 years. I just knew it would what it was supposed to do. No hassle.

I have to give it it's due, that's exactly what it does. Plenty of the lads have ridden it and all have got off saying "it's great"

As much as it's completely irrelevant in my world and riding, i have no doubt it's an excellent thing.

I'd just like something a bit 'more' in a special context. But not enough for me to throw £5000 extra at it.

IL4s can be a bit samey, but chuck in 200 gee gees and it gets less samey

I love this thing, even though I ride the Husky more. One of the lads has a V4 Panigale and has just sold his 1299 to another of the lads. I could afford either, but just can't justify it. And I'm not that awestruck by them. But they're happy

Its Ideal for what she needs it for. Fortunately you can't buy or sell at the moment so its safe!

Just the 1299. Didn't get on with it. Don't like V twins.

Once upon a time our old mate Fizzy bought me some Carnuba wax on recommendation from Mr OCD, so i thought i'd try it out

Had half an hour spare today so the ZX6R was tested and fired up.... took it for 4-5 miles to make sure it's all good... it was...

Sadly it was out of fuel, so i went out for fuel run in the car as i wanted some for Trickys Gennie which we may need soon. Bike and genny filled and genny tested and happy

Mallory park came and went without us even getting out of bed... Well, i got out of bed, the wife looked at the lashing rain and went back asleep. Reading a few of the reports online it dried up about 2pm, but in honesty i doubt we'd have lasted till then sitting in the gazebo in the rain, so we arguably made the right call, bit of a shame i have to say, but can't plan for the weather in the UK.

So this Saturday the wife and the ZX6R are out at Silverstone, although not sure if it's NAtional, International or GP layout as it's a rearranged day from May and their website/services are, well, a bit vague to say the least.

This morning i've been out and got fuel for the bike, genny and lunchtime i'll start sorting all the kit out and getting stuff down from the loftspace.

The wife has a busy few weeks.

18th Silverstone
13th Aug Brands
22nd Aug Pembrey (Possibly 23rd too)
25th Aug Oulton Park.

so lots of fun on track. I've had to buy another set of tyres, the current set are coming off after Saturday as they'll be done, so i've got a pair of part worns going on from a mate at Ride In Bike Tyres in Reading, his lad did 3 sessions on them in Spain earlier this year. It depends if we get all the rest of the days out of them as to whether they'll be swapped for another pair that's in the loft.
After the 18th at Silverstone it will get another oil change along with the pads and fluid if needed. It's then good to go for the August dates.

Every year we used to go on a day long seminar with the top Dunlop tyre guy. He always said not to go bigger on the tyre, as it was 'squeezed' and gave worse performance. Stick with what it was designed to use. To prove it, they once gave me an oversize tyre, and it was shit

This lad worked with every Dunlop GP rider from 1980 to 2015.
