Dunno, smells like plywood and wet concrete to me.

Its the base for a transformer shed, in case you were wondering why on earth it needed a 400 thick concrete floor.

You should see the way they build houses over here. No chance of subsidence and it's quaint how they build the 'footings'

One of my brothers mentioned the way they do it on the Greek islands, all concrete shuttered with planks and re-enforced to the max.

All to give the houses earthquake protection.

Same kind of deal where you are?

Yay! A shed that I can escape to from my workshop/house!

As I'm under house arrest for the foreseeable future I've been doing a few 'shed' things in my living room as well as jobs around the house. At the moment my living room floor is covered with a sheet of polythene so that I can get some coats of epoxy and varnish on a new wheelhouse roof lining for the boat. The balcony workshop has been in use daily and I've made a cat scratching post for a friend and I'm part way through a ramp so that another friend's cat can get up to her balcony. I don't even like cats!

In the next day or so I'll be starting on two identical RC sailing boats for friends (I made one last year which is sitting in my hallway). I've made templates for all the bits and I've been trying to get a sheet of 3 mm plywood - but failing - so they'll be made out of 4 mm ply which I think I have enough of. This is the boat . . .

. . .and here's mine out on the water:

Excellent, our own dusty, cobwebbed part of the forum.

They look amazing; really impressed.

I've always been a into RC of any form: planes, helicopters, cars and boats.

Do you have the plans / schematics for your build?

Thanks for sharing these pictures.

The plans are $15 iirc from http://www.bearospaceindustries.com/boats2.html. They do plans for 3 boats and a load of aircraft. The sloop pictured is easily made with most of it being from 3 mm plywood. Other supplies are necessary of course, about 3.5 kgs of lead, some wire and tubing and of course some material for the sails but the plans are good and it all goes together easily.

I'm making another two for friends at the moment so we can race them but I'm having to use 4 mm plywood as 3 mm has been unavailable here for a few months. I doubt it'll make a lot of difference, they'll maybe be a bit heavier but I can adjust the lead weight to compensate.
