At least once a month I look at 990 Superdukes on the basis I could buy one and keep the 690. Can't get passed the money people tend to ask for them though as they are fairly old bikes now. Par for the course I know as all 2nd hand bikes are expensive in general and you make most of it back, but just think for £2k more I could get a near new bike. Pity as I've still not ridden one.

This one was £4K, cheap tbh for the revised model but there is little else like them, they work well on track and are great for wheelies.

Checking the SD over it has some corrosion on engine cases so I’ll have the covers off and get them painted, rear spring the same so I’ve ordered a slightly stiffer new one. Apart from that it’s surprisingly good. Front discs though far none standard NG discs ? I don’t know them so I’ve sourced a good pair of standard brembos, I’ll service forks and send shock off to be serviced too. Fresh brake fluid and it’ll be ready to use. It has nearly new Bridgestone S21 on so they can stay for a bit too.

I don't think the covers are expensive. Or throw some GB racing at it

It does look very tidy in the pic... Even the fixings haven't turned the usual orange :D

Has the fueling been sorted ?

Sold my 07 SD to put the funds toward my MT10 but as good as that is I still miss the SD.

Never had an issue with SD fuelling, it’s a bit touchy but always got used to it and I’ve had 5 of them. Surprisingly the usual bolts aren’t orange it’s weird lol

Noticed the other day some oil under the KTM, I cleaned it down and had a look and it was from the oil tank drain bolt. Took it out and it had the wrong size copper washer fitted. Dealer had done oil change before it was delivered and obvs got it wrong. Fitted correct washer and all is well. Also fitted standard exhaust which I think looks a whole lot better

it might be if he'd actually ridden it.

I think he needs a day out on it, a bit of dry weather and a couple of hours playing. That'll settle it, either way.

I did manage a ride round the yard and a rolling burnout after I’d sorted it 🤣
But tbh I’ve no desire to sell it or more specifically deal with people, the akra exhausts will be sold so I’m happy holding onto it. I’ll start doing the little jobs, I’ve got a new rear spring to fit and while that’s off I’ll get the sprocket carrier, caliper carrier anodised again and all the bolts around the rear zinc coated. It costs little as the guys that do all that are in our yard. I’ll work my way forward and see what else needs doing too.

Then I’ll start on the amigo 👍
