Recommend - Which Clipless Shoes

Post by Taff »

After many years of riding in a pair of Shimano shoes it's time for a new pair, and it's a bit of a Goldilocks hunt.

They don't have to be waterproof - like goretex type waterproof, but water resistant enough that every puddle doesn't soak straight through like my 5 10 flat shoes do.

They need to be warm enough in the winter (hence the waterproof enough bit), but not too much of a sweatbox in the summer. I'm happy with the compromise that's needed here.

Most important is the support that the sole gives, and at this point I'm kind of assuming that they're all pretty rigid and have carbon / plastic / whatever inserts in the sole.

2 bolt cleat style, and I'd prefer if they didn't have normal laces, speed laces or turney knob things are good, but that's not a huge deal breaker.

What have we got?

That's interesting, I don't think I've ever seen that brand tbh.

I'll take a look.

I went around the buoy again and again on this one and in the end landed up getting what is effectively the current version of the old Shimano.

I haven't tried them yet because I've done some mischief to some ligament in my knee and I can barely walk, never mind cycle 😭
