I know its slightly bizarre that id do a coaching session but not with my boy. But it also makes sense somewhat.

Tempting, let me see what Mrs M says.
I imagine a session with the boy involves a lot of heavy sighing, disappointed shakes of the head and maybe the occasional tut (from James).

"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"

LOL it's hard to know as to be honest it's not really something we've done much. His priority and focus when out is speed, speed, speed and i completely get that. In many ways it would be a complete waste of his day at the moment to teach me. When he's teaching actual students that's different as he gets hours towards his next accredittion, so that's all good. But if we're in the same place together, he's busy doing race practice or testing etc... Which means i don't get the attention.MingtheMerciless wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 10:07 am Tempting, let me see what Mrs M says.

I could of course 'make' him do it... but that's not what we're about
So doing a course with Katy or Sam, with other students, makes a lot of sense. I've not booked it yet but i'm certainly not against the idea.

I enjoyed the course I did with them so it’s recommended but my brain is what stops me going faster or trying bigger things now. On the rare occasion I push beyond my comfort limit I’m fine so the skills are there but it’s not very often these days. Even with tuition to improve you have to be willing to go for it at times. Still if I was free I’d prob have done it for the craic

yeah, I've been meaning to get training for a while and this is the of the courses that I was looking at so probably time to just get on with it.
I actually had a session booked with WyeMTB a few months ago but on the day there was thunder and lightning and the rain was coming down like stair rods, and then they mucked me about a bit, but that's a different story.
