DIY Quickshifter
DIY Quickshifter
Here's some quickshifter information that I put together after I'd fitted it to my Fantic Caballero 500. No reason why it couldn't be used on other single cylinder bikes. Hope you find it interesting!.

Re: DIY Quickshifter
Think you're a lot more mechanical capable than most on here! We mainly ride, break or crash 'em!

The aim is to inspire others to tinker!. Need to do more riding though when the weather improvesTaipan wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 1:52 pm Think you're a lot more mechanical capable than most on here! We mainly ride, break or crash 'em!![]()

Re: DIY Quickshifter
A quickshifter does a bit more than just move the great lever, stuff like cut the ignition during the shift. If you want it to work on the downshift you'll need a slipper clutch as well. There's probably a bit more to out as well.
On the bikes I've ridden that were fitted with a quickshifter I've found them best used at higher revs, they're not for around town use.

The one Iv'e made works just on upshifts and cuts the ignition for a time period setup in the Ignitech CDI.Pirahna wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 4:14 pm A quickshifter does a bit more than just move the great lever, stuff like cut the ignition during the shift. Cool work man. Way ahead of most tinkerers on here.
