It's finally time to admit, I need to get rid of my Bobber.

I've had it since 2017, I absolutely love how it looks, but I've got to say, it's the most impractical bike I've ever owned. A tiny tank, zero carrying capacity and a ride that turns the most minor bump into an arse bashing experience. I've done weekends away on it in the past and managed to stuff everything I need in a backpack, but I'm doing longer trips now and a trip to Switzerland is on the cards next year and I'd never contemplate this thing for a trip like that (I'm sure some nutter has done it though).

I've probably only ridden it a handful of times this year, preferring my workhorse scrambler for nearly every situation. Only taking the bobber out because I thought I should, rather than want.

I've not had a bike that has drawn so much attention. Other bikers in in traffic, people in cars, all pausing to make a comment. If I park it up, half the time, when I'm walking back to it I will see someone standing there, looking at it or taking a photo.

But looks aren't everything and this relationship has finally come to an end.

I used to see a bloke occasionally riding one of those through Radlett. First thought was always 'That looks nice', but always followed closely by 'Fuck riding it though'

Haha. Exactly. I think I always had in the back of my mind those that said "replace the shock, it'll transform the bike" I finally did and it didn't.

I've got my eye on a T120 now.

My mates son had one for a few years,my mate thought it was good fun to ride,but as you say it's not the best for any kind of distance riding.His son sold it & bought a CCM Spitfire, that he's now also sold..

Ha no. They didn't have to sell it to me. I wanted one as soon as I saw it in the promos. I was fully aware of all it's limitations from day one (maybe not how stiff the suspension was).

I understand how hard it is to part with bikes. I was the same with my 10R. I loved that bike,but I wasn't riding it often enough,plus it was too focussed for what I want out of a bike.

Still felt like selling an offspring when it went,though. It's probably a good thing I have limited storage space,otherwise I'd never move anything on.

I looked at those as while ago as a replacement for the diavel. Test roads one, and I thought it handled really well. However, it was a bit of a One Trick Pony - sunday morning drive to the local Gail's Bakery and hang out with the other hipsters.
Mate bought one - and we found out just how much of a PITA the 80 mile range was on a trip to Ypres and back. Luggage capacity was nil.

They are very cool looking - and I guess there aren't many high mileage ones about!

With that sort of range I'd be investigating mounting jerrycans on it.

I sat on one in a showroom a few months ago, for about 15 seconds.

That was long enough to feel that the position is really not for me at all.

It's 9 litres. I think they upped it to 12 for the later Bobber Black.

Lovely bike, personally I'd prefer a full length rear mud gaurd with maybe a small rack.

Might be like supermotos. They're so uncomfortable you get a small tank so you have to have a break to put fuel in.

Keep it as an ornament if you want to, personally I think it's a chocolate teapot, but if you like looking at it, keep it.
