Can I insure a bike frame with a V5?

I've realised my NCB will lapse very soon if I don't insure a bike.

I spotted a 125 frame with a V5 for sale not too far away. Does anyone know if I can insure that? I assume I could....?

Motor insurance is for motor vehicles, not a few parts.

My insurance said (most unfairly!) that I had to keep my bike in roadworthy condition. Fascist hyenas!

Given that you're unlikely to be making a claim - and *even* less likely to have a claim made against you - I really can't think of a downside.
