Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
Haven't used one but Which? give this Woodfire 8-in-1 pizza oven/smoker etc version a glowing review. ie 98% score, Best Buy and claim it's the best one out there.

Plonk, it's just a bleedin' oven, you can set light to wood pellets and thrown them in the one you've already got in the kitchen.
These Ninja fella's must have one hell of a marketing department

Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
I’ve got one of the original ones, so no temperature probe but I’ve got a meater and inkbird.
It is very good at what it does, mine is currently on the kitchen island and I used it on grill and air fry modes without setting off the smoke detector directly above it. They are not rated for indoor use though…
Make sure you keep the pellets bone dry, consider getting an Economiser from The Pellet Man as that’ll ensure you don’t waste pellets. I’ve got a flat plate for mine as well so can do stir fry, eggs, smash burgers etc.
Yes, ninja are very good at marketing but there are some good bits of kit amongst the raft of ‘must have’ gadgets they sell.
Edit: I would definitely get the XL version as the standard is often lacking in space when cooking for more than two people.

Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
Cheers for that SC, i'm quite into getting it now. Will deffo get the XL one, juts working out the difference between the XL Pro and Pro connect, but I'll get someone in John Lewis to talk us though all that.
We love Ninja stuff. Got their big air fryer with the two compartments or you can move the divider for one big compartment. Using the two compartments for something like sausages and bacon and syncing the cooking times is fantastic!

Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
My local Lidl has had a stack of them (own brand) or about a month for under half the price, nobody wants them.
I have a Ninja double air fryer my wife bought for too much money, it's ugly and no better than any other air fryer so I just don't get the fascination with the brand.

Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
Got 2 things from Shark/Ninja. One air purifier, one steamer/air frier.
Pleased enough with both that I'd replace them with the same (and probably buy a second air purifier).
As above, Which? rate their pizza oven/smoker thing top banana.
Edit: But I feel the same way about Dyson as Mussels feels about Ninja. Overpriced, overhyped and prone to fanboi-ism. The
about Dyson is that they set a market price so all the competition has to do is beat the price - so their stuff (in the same category obvs) is overpriced too.

Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
Look forward to the review.
Had a look at it on Amazon but can't see what the max operating temperature is. Any idea?

Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
Ninja is bollox.
My Mum bought a Ninja air fryer a few years ago to replace her cheap no name. She gave me the cheap no name.
It still works just fine. Presumably like it would have carried on doing in my Mum's kitchen, if she hadn't replaced it with a name brand version of the same thing probably made in the same factory.
"Yeah but the Ninja can do hot water too". What, like a fucking saucepan you mean?

Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
No idea tbh. Bought it blind really, well other than many favourable reviews. That said there are a good few reviews saying using the smoker trips the electric.Count Steer wrote: Sun Jul 20, 2025 10:28 am Look forward to the review.![]()

Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
That seemed to be a problem when I bought mine but I have never had that problem, my BIL has the XL version and hasn't had any issues either, we were chatting at the weekend about the Matt Cooper spice mixes I have referred to in the pleasing purchase thread, he said they used theirs as regularly as I do although he bought the stand so their one lives outside.Taipan wrote: Mon Jul 21, 2025 9:22 amNo idea tbh. I don't use the smoker function that often, I use the grill function a lot, burgers, steaks, tikka chicken, tandoori lamb chops etc.

Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
Well it arrived today in a huge box! For a minute I thought it was Supermofos top box!
Anyway, i've hooked it uop to the app and WiFi and for now it can disappear into the shed-of-plenty. I just hope it comes back out again!
Got a load of people over for F-i-Ls 90th on Saturday, so wil try it out then!
Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
Nice one! Did setup go smoothly with the app? I’ve been eyeing one myself but worried about WiFi hiccups in the shed. Let us know how it handles a proper stress test with the party crowd!Taipan wrote: Tue Jul 22, 2025 7:55 pm Well it arrived today in a huge box! Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
Super easy to set up and hook up to WiFi etc. I need to play around with it some more, but it does seem very good. Killed the first 2 steaks we did as I didnt realise just how hot the thing gets, but last nights were better. Still havent used it in a group situation or tested the smoke feature etc though...edulord wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 1:58 amNice one! Did setup go smoothly with the app? Re: Ninja Woodfire Pro Connect XL Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker,
We used it yesterday when cooking for 7. One steak, two faggots, beef and lamb kebabs and some pork loin steaks. Too mich to get on in one go, so it wasn’t as versatile as my Weber bbq, but it cooked everything brilliantly. Must have been good as my son-in-law is going to buy one after seeing it in action.
