CCM Spitfire and spousal cruelty
I have put it to the Torque Wench that I must have a CCM Spitfire. It is a charming looking thing, and I suspect it would be a lot of fun to ride. Most of my bike miles are on short journeys, in a mostly urban setting, and I think the CCM would be an excellent tool for that job. So I am not just being taken in by the marketing and the bling. This is a well thought through desperately must fucking have it sort of thing. I just want it. And I want it now. That's hardly unreasonable, is it? I don't understand why she can't see what an essential addition to the stable it would be. I just need to have it. Must have it. I want one. Why can't she see sense?

That bit in bold and underlined is all you need to know about a bike purchase. Get it bought.Trogladyte wrote: Mon Sep 21, 2020 11:57 pm I have put it to the Torque Wench that I must have a CCM Spitfire. I think some of them look cool, although not keen on the one Yorick linked with the stupid fat tyres. It's the old Italian Husky engine isn't it? I suspect you won't look as cool if it's every ridden in the wet as you'll be covered front and back with road crap.

That's a bit crap, that'd be 2-2.5 years for me. Or every few months when I was commuting. Then again I can't imagine I'd everyday commute on one.

Conveniently shown without the gobbing number plate holder.
Still at least they’re being sold at a reasonable price and not ‘limited edition hand built in Britain’ price.
If I could justify it I’d have one.

They look miles better in the flesh and there are different versions to choose from. Look like fun to me. 55bhp and under 140kgs dry - what's not to like?

It would have to be the 'Blackout' or 'Foggy S' model if I had to have one.

Completely different bike mate. Steve had an FT (Flat tracker) with a 400cc engine.
Matt W and his mate Andy have both got Spitfires and they approve very much

Re: CCM Spitfire and spousal cruelty
for some reason I had assumed these were supe rlimited production, super expensive. Maybe that was just the first model?
The base model Blackout is £8995, which isn't that much more than a Ducati Scrambler.

Life is too short, so I would just get one and doesn't look like much commuting is going to be happening!

That would have been every six weeks when I was despatching from Kent.Supermofo wrote: Tue Sep 22, 2020 7:45 amThat's a bit crap, that'd be 2-2.5 years for me. Or every few months when I was commuting. Then again I can't imagine I'd everyday commute on one.
Or eight - nine weeks when I was a CBT / DAS instructor in Lydd.
