Yamaha MT09 SP

Post by ChrisW »

Not here yet but it has made it over from France - should be with me next Friday/Saturday.

First job will be to get it up to its run-in service mileage before we go away mid-June.

Still quite excited.

Out of interest, as it's from Frenchland, is it limited in any way?

Iโ€™m assuming no difference other than refusing to start in August.

If there's any issues with it, it'll give a nonchalant gallic shrug and huddle back over it's gauloises. And if Chris thinks he's riding it on a Sunday he'll find his driveway blocked with burning tyres

+ if he wants to go out on in first thing it'll have gone to buy one baguette. (Which will be stale by the time it gets it home).
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

In all seriousness it's not a grey import or anything, it's just that Yamaha have their DC in Pas de Calais.

As for limited, I've been told this is the last one that was in stock, or at least allocated to the UK, until September. So I got the deposit paid just in time.

iirc it was only the Fronch with the 100bhp limit, which has recently been abolished!

Arrived today at my brother's work - the dealer was quite close so got a deal on the delivery.

Going over in the morning to pick it up from his house.

Still think this is far too fancy for the likes of me!

Isn't it?!

I'm off on a trip in a few weeks though so might leave it for now, see what the pannier/indicator situation is.

They just pop back in, but a bit of a faff first time. Nothing to be concerned about. Rad gaurd, TT and maybe a Puig screen. ๐Ÿ‘

On the TT @ChrisW and you probably know, you'll get shit up your back on any wet surface. I have the Yamaha TT. If you can live with the standard tail then leave as is or maybe there's something in between.

Shhh - I'm considering not bothering with a tail-tidy. Fuck but I'm old!
