Fuck, I remember saying that not only were U2 not the best band to come out of Ireland, they weren't even the best band from Dublin. That didn't go down well.

Saw them at the Hammersmith Palais around the time of the 'War' album. Thought they looked like a stadium band even then. Much prancing about by Bonio waving a big white flag.

The original is almost 50 years old(!) - I think they've aged fairly well considering (and I'm no fanboi), and remembering this was the dawn of special effects. Prior scifi attempts were -really- awful.
