I put them on full power/heat on my way out of the office tonight. When I got to my bike i put them on and could definitely feel a warmth to them. Riding home I can't say I could still feel that warmth, but they do seem to keep the cold out? Its not exactly cold out though. I suppose the only real test is to wear one of my normal gloves and one of these heated ones, but i'll need it to get a bit colder first. It looking like they aren't the fail i thought they was and I note and agree with Rockburners comments.

I've found heated stuff performs better running off the bike battery,especially if you have gloves and a gilet on at the same time.

This. Anything with it's own piffling little battery isn't going to make much heat or last very long.

I hear you but I don't need a permanent solution. It's just for those few days a year it's hovering around zero, when I could use a little help to stop my fingers from getting too cold. I tried muffs but hated them. I can't be bothered to fit heated grips and they have a limited use only. So, a pair of battery operated gloves seemed the ideal solution.

As an aside, I wore the (switched off) gloves today as I actually quite like the fit and weight of them. They're not too bulky like my Held winter gloves, so I decided they stay and don't get returned even if they don't pass muster as a heated glove?

Instead of looking for new ways to beat the cold have you considered tried and tested methods, such as silk liners?

I did years ago but never found them to be anything more than irritating tbh. Maybe worth another visit though?

How about MX style hand guards?

The Honda screen actually comes with handguards made from the same material as the screen. I didn't buy the Honda one. I went with a Puig! I got smarts!

Well, it was effin cold this morning. My knees were painfully cold. My hands were bearable cold. So I guess the gloves did a halfway good job as I wasn't rubbing my hands together at the lights like a lot of other bikers I saw this morning. But, I also didn't have warm hands. I guess that's as good as 2 x 3.7v batteries can be? So I'd not say they were a fail, but i'd not recommend them either. I think thats fair...

TBF you're never going to get off a motorbike moving through a cold wind at 0deg +wind chill and think "that was toasty" are you ?

TBF you're never going to get off a motorbike moving through a cold wind at 0deg +wind chill and think "that was toasty" are you ?

I had some plug in Keis inner gloves once and iirc you could feel the warmth of those? I don't get really cold on bikes as my journey is through London then 20 minutes of A road. But, its the A road bit that always gets my hands, but only when temps are really low. To repeat myself, thats was the point of these, for the few days a year it's like that and i guess they'll help with that...

The temp drop when you leave built up areas is really noticeable isn't it. When I was commuting all year there was a massive drop as you left Bushy/Stanmore pending my route. Felt like it dropped a good 2 degrees

Most definitely! Once I pass the M25 its like I've opened a door and gone outside!

I've got Gerbing heated gloves which connect to my non-Gerbing heated jacket. My hands were toasty warm the whole ride this morning (30 miles dual carriageway, 5 miles through London). As @Skub says, connecting to the bike battery probably helps.

Sold for what I paid for it and to a dealer too. I'm kinda expecting a little chip back on Monday, as its sold subject to inspection, but if it moves it on I'm happy.

Chipped me back £50 for the front tyre it needed. Fair enough as it was low. Happy with that.

I’ve got sealskinz heated gloves, had them a couple of years mainly for the mtb but I’ve used a fair few times on the motorbike and they’ve been great. Def get very warm on highest setting.
