New bike has a seat that makes a Supermoto seat like a Parker Knoll recliner! :( So I'm going to buy a big fat, comfy, gel filled one or suchlike. Are these sort of things actually comfortable for a plodder like moi?

no, i think those kinds of seats actually make it worse. you just need to get used to it. i rode my bike recently after several weeks off and it bloody hurt. you say new bike - what saddle is on the old one? swap that over, or get another one. i'm a tart and have blingy bits on my bike but the saddle i choose is a charge spoon which costs 23 quid, so no need to spunk loads.

Had a mail today telling me they don’t know when delivery will be, I’ve sent one back asking for a refund as it was a stock item when I ordered. Let’s see what happens next.

This is the single most exciting thing i've bought in years.

Several years ago we had a picture comissioned.
It started with this Photo of our lad

Which morphed into this
ImagePrint by Steve Weeks, on Flickr

Which is now printed and hangs on our wall.

I also use it as my Strava and Whatsapp picture.

A place came up in discussion who make steerer caps for bicycles.... so i got this.

So every time i'm on my bike, my lad is out there with me now. :D

Tried my wife's bike and loved her seat so I've ordered one. And some other bits. I need a cheap rack and panniers so I can get stuff from the market whilst I'm out but bikes have changed a bit since I was buying stuff...

Oddly, I have bought nothing for mine in quite a while,
I guess that is unlikely to continue for long

Not exactly today but in the last week a new gold XX1 chain which my mate who works in an LBS said would be months on back order, found it on Mantel and delivered in 3 days.
