Re: Show us your cars ?
My 208.
Not bought through choice.
My BiL runs a little garage and I get whatever he's got lying about cheap to run into the ground. Last couple were a 207 and a Corsa.
This is newer than most because it came in with a hole in the block. one s/h engine later and I got it.

Re: Show us your cars ?
I need to buy a car for the wife.
She wants a Smart FourTwo, 2007-2012 shape based on our budget.
Been doing the usual tinternet research... wow, the MHD ones are just a blown engine waiting to happen.
Seems the Turbo ones don' have MHD so are the ones to go for.
Anyone got/had a ForTwo?

My wee Fabia 1.2TSi at the dealers, it's a 110bhp but mapped to somewhere north of 140. Got it cheap because of the colour.

Re: Show us your cars ?
It's mental how much power they get out of small capacity turbo engines these days.
My 1.6 makes 211bhp from the factory and a remap will take it to 250.
I remember when 75bhp was good for a 1.2.

I know I'm going back a while, but 1.6 205gti was 116 hp and the 1.9 129KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 2:41 pmIt's mental how much power they get out of small capacity turbo engines these days.

The Mazda has gone. My wife wanted a Nissan Juke so that's what she bought. Nobody wants to see a picture of one of those either

She bought an old Juke. I may post a picture tomorrow, if I have to look at the bloody thing on my drive i don't see why you lot shouldn't have to suffer it too.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 8:06 pmThe new Juke is slightly less face meltingly ugly than the old Juke.

I remember a 1.6 Pinto motor in a Capri/Cortina/Sierra etc was 75bhp in HC form!
You always could get power out of a small turbo engine, but the real trick was when the variable vane, electronically controlled turbos and engine management practically eliminated lag and gave torque from low revs.
My missus has a 95bhp 1.0 TSI Fabia and the bloke who mapped mine tells me that VAG sell cars with that engine putting out 115bhp so it's likely you can get it up around 130 without too much hassle.

...and has to rev twice as much and makes bugger all torque in comparison to a modern turbo car engine.

Koenigsegg's new car has a 2 litre 3 pot with 600bhp.
It also has a single speed gearbox and 3 electric motors with a combined additional 1400bhp!
