chains are shite, needs slack taking out almost after every ride and it's got a tight spot already. They are a lightweight chain and none O ring, more like a pushbike chain. ( none O ring ).

On forums everyone changes to a more heavy duty O ring type,

They're getting me a 420 o ring from somewhere and keeping same sprockets. Only 600 miles done. Though they do seem harder to find than 428, I think.

As I put on that thread, 428 is good if you're getting a big bore kit and worth doing whenever you need a whole kit anyway. Until then, 420 is fine too as 9bhp isn't exactly going to snap it on the next power wheelie...

In this life you get a choice: an 890cc Grom, or longevity.

Even when my Grom briefly had a 180cc kit it would power wheelie in 2nd, that thing will be an absolute animal.

Today the mighty monkey had a dress rehearsal for luggage carrying capabilities and is good to go.

Nice weather pending so we're gonna have a couple of days in Wales, taking in some fine roads and scenery. It's a bit of a guess how far I can get in a day, so not sure what time I'll get to accommodation.

Safe parking is the biggest concern, followed closely by food and beer availability. Wednesday and Thursday nights can be quiet and not every pub does food. Fingers crossed I get fed and watered and bike is still there in the morning.

Shit day in Shropshire today, just waiting for an earthquake and then we've had the lot i reckon.

Anyway, the monkey needs a bigger rack coz the proper one is too narrow for roll bags etc, ok for little day bag but no good when away for the night.

Found a top off a storage container, that'll do, bit of pissing about getting holes in the right place, making sure it doesnt rub the seat. Found a piece of plastic that'll work as a big washer and job done.

It's off again now but it's ready for next time. No laughing at the back please.

Is that plastic going to be strong and stiff enough to support a rollbag?? I'm assuming the tie-downs will actually be going around something metal, and this is merely a means to stop the rollbag hanging off either side... well, somewhat.
