It won't give you any flexibility. Unless it's changed since I left the shifts aren't on a rota, what you sign up for is what you do, and it's usually the shit nobody else wants. I worked Saturday night, Sunday afternoon with a few random things in the week. The people that have been there years have got all the good shifts and pretty much work 9-5 Monday to Friday. It's looking likely that the Tesco/Waitrose/Something delivery guy will be the option, it's only something i'll need/want to do for a year and it'll give me the flexibility to be able to do the more fun stuff at the same time while topping up the final year of pension money etc

This won't be a forever thing, it'll be a short term thing for 12-24 months and if the hours don't work, i'd leave and find something else. Simple as that really. I'm fortunate in the context that i won't be eating beans on toast for my only meal per day if i don't work. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice to have some more money for the nicer things in life and Ebikes and stuff. If i'm starting at 6am and finished by 1pm, that's a win for me, but a disaster for some other people. But as with all roles, i don't really know until i get deeper into it whether this would work or not.
