Successfully defended my Soreen banana loaf from my wife and Son. I'm going to have a celebratory slice with my cup of tea now!

LOL Definitely won't be drinking - the pompiers will need to be called!! LOL I'm going ski touring Probably not far if my lack of breathe walking around resort is anything to go by But, once I know how much time I need for a short walk up and ski back, and then shower and change for work, I can go more regularly
Damn ! Soreen is something I ALWAYS forget to mention when people ask if I want anything brought over Dammit!! LOL

Found a cool cave in the lava fields. Driven past dozens of times but it's hidden away.

Drove round the local towns to get my wife a particular type of mops she wanted. Dunno how these things get so popular but it was like Jingle All The Way for a poxy mop! Mission accomplished though and I got her to drive my car which she enjoyed. So now tomorrow afternoon I can guzzle beer with the father-in-law and she can drive home!

Slacked off on the physio terrorism a bit this week, so today I played catch up. I'm getting too old for this shit.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Just back from a funeral.
John has been seriously ill for nearly 6 years after having a stroke. Lots of other medical issues hit him along the way requiring a lot of hospital time and he hadn't swallowed food for about 5 years. One of those issues was throat cancer. Always cheerful though and he would be out on his little electric chariot whenever he could. His wife Jo is an absolutely amazing woman who now deserves a break. His death has put an end to a whole lot of suffering.
One of the biggest crowds I've seen at a funeral here with about 1/3rd of those attending, Turks. Even the new Imam came and said a couple of prayers. That's the first time I'd seen an Imam at an ex-pat funeral but apparently his attitude is "We are all just people.". His name is Savaş which translates to War but I guess it's just a name.
We are also running out of space in the European cemetery and I'm not sure what will happen with the next couple of deaths. A few years ago I tried with a Turkish friend to see if we could get the Euro bit landscaped (we have arguably the nicest cemetery (the Turkish bit) in the province) but we hit a brick wall. Nobody knows for definite whose land 'our' cemetery is on - maybe council land and maybe forestry land. We were going to open a can of worms if we pushed things too far as no-one really want's to find out whose land it is. If it's council land it'll be no problem but if it's forestry then they may well say all the graves will have to be moved. I doubt that would happen but you never know and so nobody wants to know.
