My wife is doing my nut in too. She was out for dinner with her 2 best mates last night. She is out for brunch and shopping tomorrow. I dont begrudge her any of that and i'm probably bankrolling it too. But what I do object to is her saying are you going to go and get some paint and start painting then, knowing I have a hangover. She is semi retired but i only have the weekend to loaf about a bit, yet she seems to be turning into my boss and instructing me how to spend my time. :wtf: I think what's worse is, i know she's right, i need to get my act together, but i hate being told what to do! :D

Just wait until she's fully retired, you'll look back wistfully on how easy life was. ;)

I know that story well. You soon become a bloke on call who works for nothing. I wouldn't mind so much sometimes, but it's usually for people who have money falling out their arsehole and can well afford to pay for work,if they weren't so tight.

I avoid this problem by cultivating an air of being fucking useless at handy man jobs.

It's taken years of dedication to reach my level of apparent ineptitude.

My Ex used to do that. She gets to look good and helpful, while I'm the one sacrificing. My therapist called it Narcissism !?

Motorbikes are like lego tho'

Everything has a place and the parts are designed to fit together (mostly).

DIY requires measuring and cutting and making things fit.

Totally different.

Wait till she start leaving you a note. I got the note twice and the 2nd one went in the bin with sod all being done. Never had a note since apart from shopping lists with wee kisses at the bottom

Taxi drivers.

Ok, I was one (briefly) but it was too annoying.

Anyway, one of the Mini-jawas got a taxi from Belfast with a friend and the driver fell asleep at the wheel and banged a kerb, cops were actually following him because he was all over the road and it turned out that he had been driving for something like 19 hours straight.

I have a tacho in my truck and the coaches I've driven and it boils my pish that taxis don't have set drivers hours either. Judging by the standard of taxi driving in this country, half of them must be dead on their feet.

And no, I don't appreciate getting hauled out of bed at 2am to drive from Ballymena to Holywood to get the girls home.

Rant over.

I'm still massively down with lurgy. Last night after being out at day and rising, finally getting home at 8pm I was floored. I'm now mostly just a ball of snot and definitely on the road to recovery, but this has been slow slow slow. A full week of poorly, unthinkable

In last few months , working on brakes, I've lost a handlebar clamp and 2 banjo bolts.
The spares bin has seen me right. And cadging bits off Pen's bike.

Yesterday I was trying to restore Pen's brakes and noticed the top banjo bolt had tiny holes. Maybe this is why it wouldn't bleed.
So took off the caliper bolt to compare.
Yup. Bigger holes. So decided to use that on M/C to force more fluid.

2 minutes later the banjo fairy came and stole them both. Searched for half hour and gave up.
Looked for half hour today. Nada.

When I put pics of the garage on here a few days ago, I noticed it was full of clutter.
An hour later I'd filled a bin bag and all shelves and spaces cleared
Looks great but no banjo bolts.

Had to order new ones and wait.
I've worked out where the M/C banjo bolt went :)

Ordered new M/C and caliper and top banjo bolt

Ahem. The top banjo bolt has a wire attached for the brake light switch.
Hmm. Don't remember the original having one. So looked on the bike, and there's the original banjo bolt still attached to the wire and hanging down out of sight.
Feel a right muppet but the mystery is solved.

Oh, and the replacement with wire was only £1 anyway :)
