I think you'd have to be completely mental to buy a JLR product without a full warranty. Although the v6's do seem to be slightly more reliable than the four pot ingeniums.

20k oil change intervals kill the diesel Ingeniums. Change the oil every 6k/annually, and you'll (probably) be fine.
The V6 is much more reliable but not without its problems. Plastic heating pipes go brittle and break. Supercharger coupling is flexi and is doomed to die. Supercharger bearings can go too. Injectors often go and water ingress through the bonnet vents mean they can often be rusted into the head. General rule of thumb is, if you're changing the water pipes for the modified aluminium ones, change the supercharger coupling for a solid one and service the SC unit (oil change) whilst you're about it. I still want one though...

A friend has just bought this. It's a 5 litre Mustang.
Apparently.
Should I be impressed?

I like it, they're a cool thing. I have no interest in owning one though, but it's cool.

I've had a rental of one (for about a week, around Scotland, with unlimited milage...

)
I hope he has a good map of every single petrol station for every journey he takes...
They're fun, but pretty pointless on UK roads.

Guy at work had one from new, sold it about 6 months ago.. Quality isn't up to much - after 4 years everything started breaking on it and not cheap to repair for some reason

V8? Yeah, impressed-ish based on cylinder count.
12 wins.

I like it. But not in white.
Hugely impractical, but they look like a lot of fun.
