It's easy to laugh and say they can't possibly know much about Engineering, but loads of young people come to the subject via Maths, Physics, stuff like that. Or even just because they got pushed by their parents into having "a proper job".
If you grew up with your Dad fixing motorbikes or whatever it's only natural that you'd think everyone who's into the subject got into it that way, but they didn't.
Engineering, same root as the word "Ingenuity" and not restricted to spanners
I haven't got a scooby doo how to use a lathe or a mill, but I hold more than one patent on manufacturing technologies.

My scabby work van the sat nav lives to the right between the A pillar and steering wheel. I like to look at it with just moving the eyes rather than the head. My camperbus i have it sitting on top of the speedo binnacle but i have a huge windscreen and sit high. The weekend just gone I saw four (I think, I lost count, my WTAF-o-meter was in overdrive, for this and other things!) drivers with big FO phones up high and only slightly to the right of their field of vision
Seriously? Surely this is illegal? WTF would you want a sodding great phone in your field of vision in your screen whilst driving on small mountain roads - or any roads TBF??
Mind you, the standard of driving was pretty horrific in general - a lot of people crossing the white lines or swerving hard for seemingly no reasonA bit scary - and it wasn't even a holiday weekend
