Wonder if Jake will get any testing time ? Maybe on a WSB R1 to get a feel for the power ?

Even though Dixon showed signs of being quick on a big bike in BSB,from what the likes of Hodgson says, chassis stiffness and the whole electronics package in Motogp is bound to be off the deep end for him.
I wouldn't expect too much,but maybe he'll surprise me.

The powers that be will know and understand that.

Looking forward to seeing Jake on the MotoGP, just like it was great seeing Rea and Shakey.
Also well pleased Cal is a factory rider. Hope he does well at sliverstone.

Mav to have his first Aprilia test for 2 days starting on the 31st of August.
I wonder what he'll think.

Fuck!
I'm going with.
I think it's an average bike that's being ridden to within an inch of its life by Spag A. I think it'll be eye opening for him and he'll be 2s+ off the pace

Bet it won't make 3 laps as Mav will have blown the motor with the dawning reality that it wasn't because the Yamaha was slow!

Maybe he'll surprise us all and do well on the Aprilia.
He was strong on the Suzuki before the Suzuki was a good bike. Some folk love being the underdog, there is no weight of expectation like there is on a factory bike.

I dunno what's good/bad there, but will be interesting to see depending on how much time he gets testing before he's unleashed. There's no doubt in anyones mind that on his day he's quick, he's topped dozens of sessions at MotoGP in the past year or two, plenty of Poles and some cracking wins etc, so if he can gel with the Aprilia, he won't do terribly. Spag A has shown this season that whilst it's not the best out there, it's consistently a top 5-7 bike... so if Mav can put it around that, well he's great... if he's languishing in 17th, he's not so great.

In 2020 he qualified on pole at San Marino with a 1:31.411.
The official racing lap record is 1:32.319 (Francesco Bagnaia in 2020).

OK, so in the right ball park then, especially for a first test...

He claimed the time on Twitter, it's nothing official.

No i get that... but you'd expect as with out trackday times it's the time rounded down slightly... so may have been a 33.8.. "33s... result" i know that one

Mav did a 2 day test at Misano.
If that's within the rules, I wonder why Dixon and McCrasher couldn't do tests before their rides?

Aprilia are allowed more testing due to results in last 2 years.
