Got the bike buttoned together for a dyno run soon. Oil and filter are fresh as is brake fluid and pads. Rear tyre is new and an 090 pro so just a front needed, gearing is already short too. Rides lovely at least in 1st and 2nd gear, so book is open for guesses on power ?
My dyno-eye says it'll make approximately 54.371 hp
So @Couchy - when do we think the big day when we find out how fit/sick it is gonna be then?

A day of battles today, chain tool broke popping new links off to make chain correct length. Then when that was done and chain on one of the adjusters was rounded. They’re weird on the NC23 as they screw into the swing arm and have a shouldered bolt and circlip arrangement. Took it off and wondered what to do, had the idea to stick the end in a lathe and turn it down, then smoothed the inside of a 6mm nut on the lathe and slid it on before having a grown up tig weld it on

.
That was rear end done, with forks built they were fitted and discs dropped onto wheel, couldn’t get front axle in at all just wouldn’t run smooth through fork bottoms. Took forks out and noticed a rookie error, the damper rod bolt was the wrong one and poking into the axle hole a few thou. Back to the lathe and that was sorted and all bolted up.
Brakes next let’s see what fights me there

Tank fitted, fairing on, brakes bled, new front tyre fitted, seat unit on and numerous other little jobs done. Mostly done when I have a few minutes spare at work. I’ll clean it up this week and get photos but it’s only an end can away from being done and I’ll drop it into unit next door to get that sorted

I had a Tri-arm, it was my first big bike after passing my test.
I had it two days before a Nissan Sunny pulled out on me.

I had a tri-arm as my first big bike too, went under the rear wheels of a lorry on the north circular

So cadwell park, wasn’t too confident as the loom although had some work was very poor but she ran so here we are. Took me a couple of sessions to get my head round lots of revs and being on a sportsbike. Luckily had a mate wirh me who races his NC30 so I just had to get my head down and ride. By the second session we were battling nicely and passing plenty in the inters group. The bike is great fun and handles and stops lovely. Third session though rev counter stopped but bike carried on working. Session after though all the electric fell out and started misfiring.
TBH happy I got 4 sessions and some proper battling.
Met up with pod70 who joined the fun on his cbr.
Plan, new loom needed, gearing needs to be slightly taller and I’ve got the proper seat unit to go on

My guess is 55bhp, anything over 60 is good, apparently you can get 90 out of an FZR, but I think 70 is more realistic, and that takes a lot of money.
The only way you'll get 90hp out of a fzr4 is go put a 600 engine in there.
I worked on a full spec V & M sp motor for a couple of seasons, 73 was the best it gave, and we followed Moodie's bike onto the rollers which had different cams and that gave 74.

I agree, low 70s is realistic, but I think it was BDK racing claimed they got 90. TBH you have to rev the knackers off it with the standard engine for it to move
