Take the bolt out, wrap it with some PTFE tape and refit, jobs a goodun.

Never ever buy a used bike from me.

There is / was a 2000 R1 in the North East with a R&G upper crash bung bolt fixed to the upper cylinder head mounting hole with chemical metal, it lasted for well over the 10 years I owned the bike. :shhh:

The casting originally sheared off when I attempted to use tapered screw extractors to remover the previously fitted crash bung… I bunged them in the bin with the remnants of the previous bung & bolt.

Fowlers of Bristol kindly sent me my correct Yamaha part copper gaskets today. I will fit the one needed tomorrow. :D

If only I had thought perhaps about using PTFE tape with maybe a smear of chemical metal I could have saved myself a pound (plus postage) for a genuine Yamaha part! :lol:

I have been going slowly on this project, but I have had a lot of things happening in my World. Full speed ahead coming soon.
