Where does all the extra weight come from?
Gas Gas EC300 €9265

Rieju 307 Rally €4499
Voge 300 Rally €3792

Buy a Voge and pop €5k's worth of upgrades on it, I'm fairly sure you'll get the weight down.

The only thing it lacks is a screen and some racks.

Quite why a crf300/voge300/Rieju307 needs to be 170kg god only knows. It can't be due to A2 as a390 Duke is more powerful and lighter.

Yes emissions and ABS but changing my exhaust to a decat only saved 4kg and abs removal would only be 2kg more...

The weight just sucks out the fun off road
The Rieju is quoted as being 137kg dry weight though which is considerably lighter than a Himalayan I believe. Still heavy compared to proper enduro bikes but it isn't an enduro bike.

That's 20kg less than the Voge 300 🧐

Not sure if it's true. New Drz4s is around 150kg from what I can see, which should mean the Rieju has similar performance?

So the suspension wheels and exhaust look like the major chassis changes to the Voge other than the plastics. 20kg is a lot of weight to drop from those, colour me sceptical on that quoted weight figure

Has anyone actually put a ready to ride 690 on some scales?
I think only BMW quote wet weight.....

I think the weights quoted are 'creative', my KTM 500 is quoted as around 111Kg, the wet weight is around 120Kg.

All of this will vary again depending on tyres, the MITAS I fitted weighs a chunk more than a Michelin Enduro, whether you've got heavy duty inner tubes or even mousses. I swapped the rim locks for motion pro ones as the originals were crappy, that saved a bit of weight.

I'm pretty sure my tool bag weighs a few kilos plus the other tools/spares in/on the bike.

I think the Adventure bike bubble is due to burst and we'll all be clamoring for light dual sports once again and the drz400 will turn it out to be the new golden child.

I dunno, I ride an ADV because of the ergos rather than any off road ability or styling.

I mis-read that as 'egos'

£4699 OTR https://www.bikingdirect.com/shop/rieju ... rally-307/

So £800 more than a voge 300 for an extra 5 ponies, a bigger fuel tank and a lower seat.

138KG is Rieju dry weight, voge 300 is 158kg wet so nothing in it really

That new BSA ADV bike will need to be around this price or lower as that is quoted at 185kg wet :shifty:
