I had three family members fall and break a hip. Stepmum died shortly after,then MIL did the same and also died.For good measure my Da fell and he'll never walk again.

He hasn't slept due to being in there last night as he was kept in for obs. Fucked if I know why they didn't x-ray him last night. They sent him home at 7 this morning still in pain with his wrist, so I took him back up around 12:45 and he has been stuck there since!?!?

Could be a foosh (fall on outstretched hand) you get a compression fracture of the head of the radius). Tricky to spot on x-ray but not bad in terms of healing. However, it hurts like a v hurty thing.

Common with snowboarders (said the doctor in Banff when I saw him for the second year running )

Trying to convince people of that is a lost cause.

If they were placed at or near locations with an accident history, the public were never really aware of that history* so the cameras were simply there to generate revenue.

*Whitebirk roundabout (Junction 6 of the M65) was the worst accident hot spot in Lancashire for 10 years but when some remedial work was done on it to slow traffic down and reduce that accident rate, locals were telling the press and TV reporters that the accident rate was a load of nonsense, because they had never seen an accident there.

Aye. An 85 year old disabled man left in various corridor for over 9 hours with no food or drink given. He was so weak by the time I got him home he could barely walk and not even stand up unaided. He got stuck on the bog and i had to help him off there and clean up and then get him undressed for bed. I think the embarrassment nearly killed him. Will organise carers today and get hold of (presumably) occupational therapy for a temporary bed and commode downstairs.

This is what is being done for my mother in law at the moment, she had a bad experience with very uncaring nurses in hospital recently so now family are caring for her at home now with regular visits from carers and district nurses. She managed to get a decent care package but it was a bit like getting blood from a stone, fortunately my wife trained as a nurse and used to run sheltered housing so she knows who to talk to and what to ask for but she's had to chase and follow most things up herself. The GP put some equipment orders through to the wrong people who just ignored it because they had no idea what it was about, the pharmacy couldn't get the order right because they had a flood etc
If you don't know what to expect or if you trust people then it is easy to fall through the cracks.
Then there was getting my MiL to agree, she refused all of this at first. I brought the first bed down because she won't tell me to f off, then a commode appeared in the room and now they are thankful for it all.
If you want to know who to contact for anything in particular then I can ask, might save you some time. Some stuff we just got from Amazon because if it looks less nasty then it's more likely to be accepted.

Massive respect to you blokes who do all this, I never really got the chance to look after either of my parents due to illnesses that took them quickly. Not sure if I could cope with, and manage what you do and have done.

Came round and found him on the floor. He doesn’t know how long he’s been there. Rang his Doctors but the queue system is full and not taking calls. Rang 111 and hit the same story and the message also said try online. So irang 999. Ambo is here now and suspect dehydration? Looks like they’re going to leave him here, but he can’t even get himself on and off a chair of toilet?!!

Cheesr Bud. I'm okay, just a tad frustrated by it all, although not as much as my warmongering Sister who is talking to PALS right now and saying the reason he's back in is because of how he was treated and i had better not happen again etc!

I'd explained to the Paramedics why they'd been called and they were fine with it, adding that most of the peopel in A&E didn't need to be there and wouldn't be if GPs returned to normal face to face services instead of just referring. They really were not happy bunnies!

Got up this morning, full of beans, and thought I'd spend a constructive hour sorting out a couple of bits with Barclays and Nationwide, get my pension portal set up, get a car insurance renewal sorted...

Three hours later I've spent the most of the time listening to hold music, being told I haven't passed security questions, etc. etc...


I may as well have pointed my todger into the wind and emptied my bladder for all the fucking headway I've made.

Except when you cant. I needed a PIN reminder - doing it online required a pass number which I couldn't find, so to request that I was redirected to a screen which required some detail off a card-reader.... which I needed the original PIN to extract. So off to 20 mins on hold with some elevator jazz to listen to..

Not with HMRC I couldn't - THEY have my date of birth incorrect on their system. Despite me sending, by recorded delivery, the required information/copies of documents to change my date of birth to be correct. They haven't


Because I made the incorrect assumption that they would have changed the DOB, I didn't pass the security questions last time I called
