€13,000 is equivalent to £11,016 at the current(ish) exchange rate of €1.18 to the pound. So the same price as the reduced eBay one above.KungFooBob wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2024 5:43 pm Yup, was just like that, think it was almost 13,000E
All the bikes seemed more expensive than in the UK.

Each to their own. That back end just looks unfinished to me. But agree entirely about the riding position thing.weeksy wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 11:36 amCouldn't disagree more... I think it looks marvellous thatmangocrazy wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 11:35 am I really don't understand how 'Primer Grey' as a colour has suddenly become fashionable. OK, it's gloss finish, not matt, but it's still boring grey. And that end can looks really chavvy. And the seat and side panel arrangement is a mess. I'd be going for the standard XSR all day long if I was in the market for one.![]()
Admittedly i'd have the XSR as well, but only because of riding position. But that thing looks superb.

Re: XSR900GP
I like it from that angle (but still not the Akra). I don't the 'crippling riding position' criticism from the reviews - it looks fairly tame for a bike with clip-ons but then I've not even sat on one.Taipan wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 10:33 am First sportsbike to have piqued my interest since the 916! Still cant believe thats a production bike!

Re: XSR900GP
I still haven't come to terms with the GP's letterbox headlight. The base model XSR900 does so many things better than the GP.

Re: XSR900GP
I think that most people have concluded that the base XSR is the better value and has the more relaxed riding position, while still having pretty much the same running gear and spec as the GP. The standard XSR in the white/red colour scheme still looks pretty tasty to me. I'll be surprised if you don't see quite a lot of GPs heavily discounted over this coming winter.

Re: XSR900GP
Took my tape measure into LBS yesterday to confirm/deny a thought that had crossed my mind.
On the new xsr/GP, the forks looked VERY familiar.
Apart from the fork cap, they are the gen 1 mt09sp units. The tape measure agrees with me.

Re: XSR900GP
But they could be completely different inside then too?
So they share the same external dimensions, what's that really telling us?

Re: XSR900GP
This site has all the parts fiches....
https://www.bike-parts-yam.com/yamaha-m ... 26/0/86499
You can compare the part numbers.
I dunno how Yam part numbering works, looks like the first part is the model code, for instance the forks springs are...
2022 MT-09 SP - B7N-23141-00 (same as the stock MT-09)
2024 XSR900 GP - BMG-23141-00
I can't be arsed to check the damping rods, etc..

I was bored so used Capt Panigale's link to the parts fiche.weeksy wrote: Sun Oct 06, 2024 2:13 pm But they could be completely different inside then too?

Same part numbers for the dampers.....even the same number on the selection list......apart from the model number, almost identical fiches

Re: XSR900GP
Stolen from Kardesign's Freindface page...
A = Standard XSR GP style
B = YZF750 style
C = FZR OW01 style
D = FZR400RR style
I had an FZR400 with the twin projectors behind a single glass, so It's D all the way for me.

D! They tugged at the wrong demographic's memories.
B and C are daft though, as if they wanted them to look bad. Scale's all wrong.

Re: XSR900GP
The YZF style lights are too small, the 3TJ FZR400 ones look best, the supposed OW01 lights look nothing like an OWO1
