Got the rear wheels pulled, dismounted inner tires, swapped out schraeders for longer ones, balance & remount tires. Now I can check the inner tire pressure in a mere moment instead of 20 minutes of faffery.

New Hella 450 spots fitted, work of a moment. Still need to wire them up & adjust. Ordering the yellow fogs is next.

WooT! Some chap offered to buy the old lights. He has 5 or 6 trucks like mine.

Old lights sold & shipped off today. Was going to throw them away, but he offered a pittance & I accepted.

All four of the new blinders installed, just need to hook up the harness.

Got stuck in doing the harness for the lights. There are three wires coming through the grill behind the lights.... and they connect to EIGHT wires on the lights so lots of bullet connectors. One of three wires is a common ground, so that got connected the ground on each light via a pair of 2:1 connectors (left pair & right pair), the second of the three was power to the outer pair & the third was the power to the inner pair (which used a 3rd 2:1). There was already a 1:2 for the power to the outers which got reused.

AND!! It all fucking worked right off the bat WooT!

I'm not sure I could even draw up a wiring diagram for it. At least all the ground wires are black, power to the outers goes from purple to blue & power to the inners goes from yellow to blue. FFS

New corner brackets (2) showed up the tonneau cover. Front left one on the truck was broken. Swapping it out turned into a bigger ballache than expected, but sorted now... so two of my F clamps are now back in the garage.

Dropped by the local carpet/flooring shop. $20 remnant is now a fitted carpet in the truck bed

I thought the whole idea of a pick up was that you could load a pile of shit in the back, take it wherever, unload it and hose out the bed.

Truck isn't insured for that *work* kinda malarky, but the carpet is loosely fitted so I can just roll it up & remove it. I may end up sleeping back there at the Lake Havasu show in April. I can easily remove the spiffiness, load the bed & hose it out etc. In fact it will get hosed out before the Havasu run as the bed liner is looking kinda dusty.

There's only 4sq ft of diamond plate back there. It's to protect the end 4x8 sheet of varnished plywood at the tailgate end.



In other news: I did some paint correction on the top of the rear fenders & a couple of other spots today. Removed a ton of those fine angel hair looking hazy scratches that show up in bright sunlight. Rather pleased with the result. When I have more time I'll do the bonnet too.

Adjusted the front wheel bearings on the F350 today after noticing a bit of play when I had it jacked up yesterday. Used the Land Rover/P51 method & got it all sorted... after some frustration trying to get the fucking dust caps off.
They're kind inside the assembly so couldn't pry or use channel locks etc. Eventually succeeded by using a drum brake adjust doodad that looks like a small pry-bar. Getting that sorted took longer than adjusting the bearings & getting it all back together.

So that just saved about $500 at the shop. ("The Shop" being the name of the local diesel experts place)
