A couple of days commuting and the ache in my leg is back, albeit in a lesser way than before. So I really don't think there's anyway round this. Whatever bike I ride, changing gear is just never going to be comfortable for me. So I either put up with it or return to auto scoots or DCT bikes. C'est la vie...
Still enjoying the CB1R regardless though, and the Ducati isn't sold, so there's unlikely to be any changes yet. I'll see how things pan out for a while?
What's the list of DCT bikes then ? Obviously the Africa Twin ticks a fair few boxes and honestly has to be right up there ? But i don't know who/what else is DCT that may potentially work.
Has @Couchy still got his AT ?
Couchys would be too new for me I think. I've kinda expected that all roads will lead me to an AT at some point, but tbh I'm not keen on the wheel sizes. When i had the XT660R I hated the big front wheel and I worry I'd not gel with the AT because of it? I also didn't want that much money stuck in a bike again? I did watch some youtube reviews on them though and no one seemed to voice my concerns, in fact most just rave about them, so maybe I should actually test ride one? Nothing is happening until the Duc is sold though. My wife doesn't say much about my bike buying, but I think i'd be testing her if I brought a third bike home!
Another option is a NC750X again although the footpegs are surprisingly high on those iirc? I've had 3 of them though, so its not an exciting prospect, but quite a sensible one. Presumably lighter than an AT and the bonus of being ridculously economical and a but of storage in the "frunk" (false petrol tank), which is always handy!
I'm starting to be drawn to a second bike in the form of (yet) another SH300. Although i didn't want two bikes again, this does make sense. If my leg is giving me gyp, use the scoot for a couple of days and when its bad weather. Also, they have luggage capacity which is a bonus. This would allow me to keep the CB1R which, comfort issues aside, I'm really starting to like.
So, i'll probably buy a Harley then!
