Back in the good old days there used to be a beer tap on the end of the counter.
Plastic 'glass' obviously.

I do wonder at this sort of stuff. Whilst it's one thing to say "I'm the fastest person on that route", is she ever likely to go back and take time to stop and smell the flowers?wheelnut wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 9:23 pm Fastest time to complete the Appalachian Trail - 40 days!

Re: In todays light hearted look at the (non-political) news
Mother in Georgia was arrested & charged with Child Endangerment after she let her 10yo kid walk to the shop a mile away... At that age it wasn't unheard of for me to cycle up to 4 or 5 miles away.
From the video it looks like they live out in the sticks, not in a city.

I did
All of the flooding in the photo's I've posted isn't from the river Teme, but ground water and the local Kyre brook, which for most of the year is a trickle, but this time it's brought down one of it's retaining walls

Gentlemen. This is fucking serious!!!
A colleague has just shown me the Bloomberg page which tracks Arabica bean futures. In the past month the price has gone from c. $300 to nigh-on $400, triggered by the crop failing in Brazil and Vietnam.
Now is the time to sensibly panic-buy coffee!!!
I fear for a tea-only future.

Or worse still, and not seen since the 1970's...chicory*!
*Is Camp coffee (that vile coffee-flavoured liquid with the label that has disturbing undertones of colonialism) still a blend of coffee and chicory?

It's not all bad news, providing you like your coffee with soya milk. And the expected drop in the price of tofu will be welcomed by vegans everywhere.gremlin wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2024 9:42 amSoon we may have to adulterate our morning coffee with....robusta beans.Pirahna wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2024 9:18 amI've never looked at furures before, Coffee is only up 70%, Cocoa has risen 110%gremlin wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 4:26 pm Gentlemen.
