You've got that the wrong way round. The effects of alcohol last longer; i.e. you can still be pissed from the night before the next day. The effect of drugs like cannabis and cocaine wear off much quicker, but the markers stay in the body for much, much longer.

Apologies, nicely picked up, that is what I meant to say, should have changed the word affect to detected.

Rode a mates bike when we were both stoned once, felt like the rear tyre was flat but I daren't stop incase it wasn't punctured & my mate would then realise how stoned I was & freak out. Amazing how we survive our youth at times.

Down here on the South Coast , stoned drivers are endemic. Especially in the summer

I recently got stopped by the police for drug testing and got a positive. The last time I smoked weed was more than half a year ago, but I tried a vape with cbd at a party a few days before, so ig that was what showed up.

I used to enjoy a good toke many many years ago, never gave a second thought to driving afterwards, looking back all of my accidents have been when stone cold sober, maybe I should take up the weed again just to be safe.

The great undisciplined aren't afraid of offending, no one's gonna catch them. The epidemic will grow.

For wisdom teeth extraction, I was dosed with Valium. Knew what was happening, totally didn't care. But people drive while on it (admittedly lower doses).
Same for me for my vasectomy as I was embarrassingly apprehensive due to my occupation! Valium meant that I couldn’t have cared less if they’d removed the lot.

Might have felt differently later tho.

I’m the same with codeine, never take it now if I’m driving after a reckless overtake in the car where I almost hit an oncoming fuel tanker. My wife was passenger and hasn’t let me forget it
