But tbh I’ve no desire to sell it or more specifically deal with people, the akra exhausts will be sold so I’m happy holding onto it. I’ll start doing the little jobs, I’ve got a new rear spring to fit and while that’s off I’ll get the sprocket carrier, caliper carrier anodised again and all the bolts around the rear zinc coated. It costs little as the guys that do all that are in our yard. I’ll work my way forward and see what else needs doing too.

Then I’ll sell it 👍
FTFY.
Wouldn't be a surprise would it ;)

Lovely bikes those! Was that or the K1200R to be honest. Neither particularly pretty, but do what you want them to do, have fun!

So I’m having to sit in a corner and think about what I’ve done.....it’s been a stressful week but a bit of tinkering with a bike helps. The 990 was looking good so I picked a cloth up to wipe over the tank, nothing untoward there except when I’d done there were scratches, lots of deep scratches through to the plastic. The cloth had some sharp swarf in it and I didn’t hear it feel anything

So 2 doors down we have a detailing guy, he came and laughed and took the KTM away explaining whatever he does will give a gloss finish. Obviously can’t get rid of the scratches completely but an hour later it comes back and the result is pretty acceptable. Scratches still there but can’t feel them now so I’m fairly happy and the gloss finish looks ok too

It’s just another pic of the 990, after the oil leak and the scratched tank both now sorted I decided to give it a deep clean. Still needs the shock spring changing but it’s about as clean as it’ll be now. Tbh looks fairly good, may even go as far as riding it soon 🤣

One of those rare bikes where the standard exhaust cans look better than after markets. Eye of the beholder and all that but i love the look of SDs.

My mate loves his new toy

He had a bit a of a wobble when the electrics failed on his way home but it turned out to be a loose battery terminal so easily sorted and his grin soon returned!

I remember sitting next to my KTM Duke II feeling very pissed off back in 2003 waiting to be collected and 2 blokes running past laughing and saying 'Huh Huh shudda bought Japanese mate'
I wanted to reply it was the Italian alarm and nothing to do with the orange tractor but couldn't find a way to politely frame it to them.
