If you can't see the road surface just 3 - 4 sec ahead, you have your eyes closed

I can't remember the last time I saw a four second gap down the Euston Road...

Re: "Sacrifice position for safety"
Well, I could point out that's Westminster Bridge.
I drove down the Euston Road last week, and it was nose-to-tail gridlock all the way, thanks to the COVID-friendly full lane width cycle lane which has reduced one of London's busiest routes to a single lane for much of its length. In four seconds I mostly moved zero metres.

To be fair, you could have waited another 26 days before pointing that out
The theory holds, then, you didn't need to check it again. QED

You are surprisingly literal. Anyway, Earth has not anything to show more fair.

Re: "Sacrifice position for safety"
Don't get me started on those segregated cycle lanes.
Of course, now that I have an e-bike I think they're wonderful
Actually, I think they are a pretty bad idea. They permanently reduce road space for all road users except cyclists, on arterial routes that cyclists could by and large avoid, with a bit of planning. And when cyclists aren't using them - basically most of the time outside rush-hour - they are wasted space.
