Being able to stop is always something of a plus point though IME.

My T6 is the 3.2 ton version so it comes with bigger brakes. Standard wheels are up from 16 to 17 inch to fit the discs. I've got Bilstein suspension all round which helps a bit with the handling, it's not a sports car though.

I believe mine is also a 3.2? Though it has 16 inch wheels. It also has Eibach springs on the back which I assume are an upgrade to help with towing ?

Lift the bonnet, stand facing the van in the left hand corner on the firewall is the sticker with the chassis number, and underneath the chassis number are the weight ratings. The top number will be either 3200kg, 3000kg or 2800kg.

On the rare occasion I kip in mine I use a lightweight air mat, otherwise it's a tent on a campsite.

Had the poptop down and it’s fine for one but the full double with mattress downstairs is ace for two. Me too old to be uncomfy

I'm comfy in a tent. In the summer here I sleep outside every night, that's the best part of three months in a tent, best nights sleep ever. I have a small platform in the garden with a two person tent screwed to it, no flysheet, just the mesh inner, and a tarp in the trees for cover.

I've been pottering a bit with the can, but not much toy can really see.
We'll that was until yesterday when I finally got round to properly cleaning the roof. I washed the rest of the van while I was at it and it looked so good I decided it was time to fit the moon discs.

I finally attacked the carpet lining. I'm always nervous of jobs like this as I know they are difficult and can go very wrong!

Unfortunately I am going to have to seel the van as my new job in Saint Tropez means it no longer works for me.
I paid £14,300, I've put well over £2k in parts and a lot of labour.
When I get to the UK in October, we'll be fitting a new steering wheel, so it'll have active cruise control. Plus side bars, roof bars, wheel spacers, rear spoiler and a few other bits. I'll put it on ebay with a start price of £14k

That's a bugger after all the work you've put in, good luck with the sale.

I've spent Over £3500 on materials and components. and spent a lot of time on it.

I genuinely think this is a great deal for someone, ready to go with all the right mods.
I'm not going to sell it for less than that price, I'd rather import it into France.

Given the effort you've put in, not worth importing it? You've got it exactly as you wanted it. Or if the job is fixed term keep it until the job ends?

Is this job year-round or are you still doing the ski-resort thing as well? I guess if you're in France all year then a UK reg vehicle could be a bit problematical?

It would cost over £4000 to import it. an the steering wheel is on the wrong side !
I have a minimum that I'll let it go for, if I can't get that, then it will be worth importing.

I bought this van, thinking I was going to be spending summers in the UK, the new job means that's no longer the case. So I'm selling this one and will be buying a French one shortly.

The new job is May to November. Ski season is December to April. As a french resident, I can only have a UK registered vehicle in France for 30 days.
